Entry Process to Canada

The current entry process to Canada is dependent on the traveller’s vaccination status. It is important to note that from January 15, 2022, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreign nationals will be prohibited from entering Canada unless they qualify for one of the limited exceptions. Permanent Residency Applications

If you have applied for Permanent Residency, the Canadian Government continues to process these applications however processing times may be delayed.

If you have encountered issues with obtaining required documents due to COVID-19, the Canadian Government is aware of these delays. If this applies to your application, the Government is accepting delayed submissions if you contact them and submit evidence and a letter explaining the reasons for the delay. It should be noted that as soon as you receive a delayed document, it is recommended you submit it as soon as possible.

Express Entry Application Deadline

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the application deadline for Express Entry applications once you receive an invitation to apply was extended to 90 days. However, since June 29, 2021, the application deadline has reverted and your application for permanent residency must be submitted within 60 days.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the importance of adequate healthcare coverage for individuals specifically if you are a foreign national travelling to another country.
