BC Points Calculator: Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)

This page provides further detail on the points system (sometimes called the Skills Immigration Registration System, or SIRS) used to assess registrations for the Skills Immigration stream of British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Registrations which score a high enough number of points may receive an invitation to apply for a PNP nomination from British Columbia.

Applicants for the following Skills Immigration categories do not need to register and can apply for BC PNP directly:

  • Health Authority stream
  • International Post-Graduate Stream

If you decide to register, the information you have provided will be scored in order to determine if you will be invited to apply to the BC PNP Skills Immigration stream. Once submitted, registrations are valid for one year, after which they will expire. If your registration has expired, you will need to create a new one in order to be re-scored and considered again for an invitation.

If you receive an invitation to apply for the BC PNP, you will be provided with instructions on how to submit your application. You will have 30 days in which to submit your application, or your invitation to do so will expire.

All applications for the Skills Immigration stream (whether they require registration and invitation or not) have an application fee of CAD $1475.

If your application is successful, you will be granted confirmation of your nomination under the BC PNP, which you can then use to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

British Columbia PNP (BC PNP) Points Calculator

You can use the tables below to estimate how many points your registration for the BC PNP Skills Immigration stream might receive. The maximum score that can be awarded to a registration is 200 points.

The number of points required to receive an invitation varies over time depending on the labour market in British Columbia and the number of registrations in the pool. You can review recent BC PNP Skills Immigration invitation totals and scores required here.
