BC Points Calculator: Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)

British Columbia PNP – Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)

This article will detail the process of applying for the Skills Immigration (SI) stream of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

The overall process is as below:

  1. Registration

If you and your employer meet the program requirements and your employer is prepared to support your submission, you can submit a registration to the BC PNP.

Please note that if you are interested in the following categories, you do not need to register and may proceed directly to the application via BCPNP Online:

  • Skills Immigration – Healthcare Professional
  • Skills Immigration – International Post-Graduate
  • Express Entry BC – Healthcare Professional
  • Express Entry BC – International Post-Graduate

The registration must be done via the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). SIRS is a dynamic intake management system that allows the BC PNP to prioritize high-impact candidates to ensure strong economic outcomes for the province. As it is a points-based system, you will receive a score based on the information you provide.

Your registration score will determine whether you will receive an invitation to apply under the BC PNP Skills Immigration stream.

Your registration is valid for twelve months from the date of submission. If you do not receive an invitation to apply before your registration expires, it will no longer be valid. You may then create and submit a new registration

  1. Invitation

Eligible registrants under the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate categories will receive an invitation to apply under the Skills Immigration stream.

Invitations are issued based on the BC PNP’s annual nomination allocation and processing capacity. However, a registration does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply.

You will be ranked based on your score, which is calculated by SIRS according to your job, its location in B.C. and your offered wage, as well as your work experience, education and language ability.

  1. Application for Nomination

After receiving an invitation to apply, Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate candidates can apply online. HealthCare Professional and International Post-Graduate applicants do not need an invitation and can apply directly through BCPNP Online.

You have 30 calendar days to apply, and the processing fee is CAD 1,150.

  1. IRCC Permanent Residence Application

After receiving your BC PNP confirmation of nomination, please submit a complete application for permanent residence to the designated IRCC visa office. You must submit your application before the expiry date listed on your nomination certificate.

How is your score calculated by SIRS

As mentioned above, your score is calculated according to your job, its location in B.C. and your offered wage, as well as your work experience, education and language ability. The following table details the factors and their corresponding scores for your reference.
