Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway
This Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident program closed on November 5, 2021 and is no longer accepting applications. This page will be updated if a similar program is introduced.
In 2021, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced a new pathway for essential workers and international graduates currently in Canada that provides them with an opportunity to obtain permanent residency. This is said to encompass 90,000 people who are currently contributing to the Canadian economy.

Permanent Resident Pathway for Hong Kong Residents
The Permanent Resident Pathway for Hong Kong Residents was initiated in response to the ongoing concern for Hong Kong nationals due to the tension between Hong Kong and China. This Pathway provides Hong Kong nationals with an opportunity to gain permanent residency in Canada. There are two streams:
