THE PEI PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (PEI PNP)

When you are ready to move to PEI, you will want to apply to a PEI PNP stream. The different categories available to newcomers are below:

This stream is for people who are currently working in PEI.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for Critical Workers pathway, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 59
  • Received a NOC C or D job offer
  • You have at least 2 years work experience or relevant education in the past 5 years
  • Hold at minimum a secondary school diploma
  • Proficiency in English or French (CLB 4)
  • Show access to sufficient finances
  • Intention to settle in PEI

This stream is for graduates from a publicly funded PEI post-secondary institution.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for International Graduates pathway, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 59
  • Received a job offer
  • Hold a post-secondary school degree or diploma from publicly funded PEI institution
  • Proficiency in English or French to perform job
  • Show access to sufficient finances
  • Intention to settle in PEI

Applying for this stream through the PEI PNP will increase your chances of receiving an invitation to apply from the federal Canadian government. Applicants who live and work in PEI will be given priority.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for Prince Edward Island Express Entry pathway, you will need to:

  • Meet requirements of one of the Federal Economic Immigration programs
  • Demonstrate one of the following:
    • Graduated from an institution outside of PEI
    • Have a spousal open work permit
    • Have four months prior to expiry of your PGWP at time of submitting Expression of Interest
  • Have at least 9 months of work experience with PEI employer

You can apply for this stream if you are currently employed by an Island employer.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for Skilled Workers in Prince Edward Island pathway, you will need to:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 59
  • Received a NOC 0, A or B job offer
  • You have at least 2 years work experience in the past 5 years
  • Hold at minimum a post-secondary degree or diploma (min. 2 year program)
  • Proficiency in English or French
  • Show access to sufficient finances
  • Intention to settle in PEI

This stream can be used for talent recruitment outside of Canada.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for Skilled Workers Outside Prince Edward Island pathway, you will need to:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 59
  • Received a NOC 0, A or B job offer
  • You have at least 2 years work experience in the past 5 years
  • Hold at minimum a post-secondary degree or diploma (min. 2 year program)
  • Proficiency in English or French
  • Show access to sufficient finances
  • Intention to settle in PEI

NOTE: As of September 20, 2018, the 100% Ownership and Partial Ownership streams have permanently closed. PEI will continue to invite entrepreneurs through the Work Permit stream only.

This stream is suitable for those who wish to invest and operate a business in PEI. It is suitable for foreigners with business owners with extensive management experience.

Main eligibility criteria:

To apply for Skilled Workers Outside Prince Edward Island pathway, you will need to:

  • Be between the ages of 21 and 59
  • You have business ownership or management experience
  • Have a net worth of at least CA$600K
  • Hold at minimum a high school diploma
  • Proficiency in English or French (CLB 4)
  • Show access to sufficient finances
  • Intention to work and settle in PEI
